AVerTV Volar GPS 805

The AVerMedia AVerTV Volar GPS 805 USB stick has both a DVB-T TV tuner and a GPS receiver, which makes it a very nice little item to carry around in your laptop bag. I recently purchased one to use with my EeePC, which I’m eventually hoping to somehow mount in my car – the GPS function works brilliantly with FreeDrive and Map Monkey, and the TV function picks up all my local digital stations even when using only the tiny (and very cute) included rabbit ears.
Nintendo DSi sticker skins

I’m not normally a big fan of skins for handhelds or consoles, but the lastest DSi sticker skins actually look pretty nice.
Nintendo DSi
The Nintendo DSi is the long-awaited successor to Nintendo’s popular handheld video game console. Compared to the Nintendo DS Lite, the NDSi features a 17% larger screen, is 12% smaller overall, and weighs in at only 214 grams. The DSi also features a built in camera, SD memory card slot, web browser and music playback function.
Tomy Flip Flap Mini – solar powered smiles
I just received one of these ultra cute Tomy Flip Flap Mini solar plants, it’s sitting on my desk, happily bobbing up and down just from the light of my small desk lamp. Everyone that sees it says that it’s silly, then after a minute or so they think it’s kinda cute, then they ask where they can get one. I LOVE my Flip Flap! This is the best solar toy I’ve got (and yes, I have quite a few).
GP2X Wiz
GP2X fans, prepare yourselves for some big news. Introducing a smaller, sexier, and far more powerful version of the GP2X… the GP2X Wiz! The GP2X Wiz is the long-awaited update to the popular (yet somewhat underground) Linux based handheld – now powered by a 533Mhz ARM9 processor with 3D acceleration, offering updated multi-media features, a rechargeable battery, a touch screen and a new sleek slim design. And best of all… it plays Flash games! Which means an almost unlimited supply of free games – just download them to your SD card and play. The ability to play Flash games is a big selling point, and is enough reason alone to upgrade from the old GP2X F100.
- 533Mhz ARM9 CPU – 3D Accelerator
- Stunning 2.8 inch QVGA OLED touch screen
- Internal li-ion battery 2000mAh
- Plays Flash games, movies and animations
- Microphone input
- 1GB internal flash memory
- 64MB RAM
- SD card slot
- USB 2.0
- Movie playback includes MPEG4, Xvid, and DivX out of the box
Kaossilator touchpad synth
The Korg Kaossilator touchpad synth is a pocket size synthesizer that features a revolutionary touchpad design. Move your finger from left to right to change the pitch of the note, and up and down to change the sound. The Kaossilator can also be used as a drum machine and has dozens of built in beats and drum sounds. It features a sequencer function that allows you to build up tracks using the loop recording feature – you can layer tracks to create complex songs combining lead instruments, beats and sound effects together. Check out the video, it’s pretty cool.
Konami – My First DDR plug’n'play TV game
Konami have released a special “plug’n'play” edition of Dance Dance Revolution that simply plugs into your TV – no console required. My First Dance Dance Revolution features 19 songs, plus 1 unlockable bonus song, 3 different dance modes and some fun mini games.
Tomy Q-Steer – micro RC is back!
I’ve always been a huge fan of Tomy Bit Char-G micro RC cars, so when I saw the new Takara Q-Steer (aka Tomy) micro cars I knew it would be the start of a new spending spree. Q-Steer cars are perfect for racing around your coffee table, or for smuggling into your office, and they come in lots of different designs – you can get everything from a Corvette to an Initial-D AE86.

New GP2X F-200 announced
Gamepark Holdings have announced the release of the next GP2X – the F-200. The GP2X F-200 features a touch screen interface, 8-way digital pad, multi tasking (so you can listen to music while reading an ebook), and it’s white! Play-Asia has the GP2X F-200 on pre order, so if you want one – get your name down now. The first GP2X sold out pretty quickly, and I can imagine the F-200 will go fast too.
Duck Hunt light gun for Windows

If you’re a fan of retro gaming then you’ve probably missed using a real light gun on games such as Duck Hunt and Hogan’s Alley – unless you own an original NES and Zapper gun. I’ve just discovered a great little driver that allows you to use an inexpensive GunCon2/Gcon2 PlayStation2 light gun with Windows – you simply need to use your graphics card’s TV out to play your emulator games on a normal TV. I’ve been playing Duck Hunt all day (using the FCE Ultra Nintendo emulator), and it works perfectly – Duck Hunt is even better than I remember. 8-bit magic at its finest!
