Tomy Q-Steer – micro RC is back!
I’ve always been a huge fan of Tomy Bit Char-G micro RC cars, so when I saw the new Takara Q-Steer (aka Tomy) micro cars I knew it would be the start of a new spending spree. Q-Steer cars are perfect for racing around your coffee table, or for smuggling into your office, and they come in lots of different designs – you can get everything from a Corvette to an Initial-D AE86.
New GP2X F-200 announced
Gamepark Holdings have announced the release of the next GP2X – the F-200. The GP2X F-200 features a touch screen interface, 8-way digital pad, multi tasking (so you can listen to music while reading an ebook), and it’s white! Play-Asia has the GP2X F-200 on pre order, so if you want one – get your name down now. The first GP2X sold out pretty quickly, and I can imagine the F-200 will go fast too.
Duck Hunt light gun for Windows

If you’re a fan of retro gaming then you’ve probably missed using a real light gun on games such as Duck Hunt and Hogan’s Alley – unless you own an original NES and Zapper gun. I’ve just discovered a great little driver that allows you to use an inexpensive GunCon2/Gcon2 PlayStation2 light gun with Windows – you simply need to use your graphics card’s TV out to play your emulator games on a normal TV. I’ve been playing Duck Hunt all day (using the FCE Ultra Nintendo emulator), and it works perfectly – Duck Hunt is even better than I remember. 8-bit magic at its finest!
New PSP – Slim and Lite
Sony have announced a new “slim and lite” PSP, and it looks a million times nicer than the original PSP. The new PSP Slim and Lite is available in Ceramic White, Piano Black, Ice Silver, Felicia Blue, Lavender Purple, Rose Pink, Metallic Blue, and Silver.
Nodame Cantabile
I just got Nodame Cantabile for the DS, and it’s fast becoming my favorite DS game of all time. Nodame Cantabile is a collection of mini games all based on music. There’s all sorts of cool games – you use the stylus to tap the screen in beat with the song (the drumming one is my favorite), and although the game is in Japanese, there’s really nothing to read anyway.
iPod Nano Video – it’s here!
Apple have released the new iPod Nano Video. The new Video Nano has a two-inch display that’s 65% brighter than before, and is available in 4GB and 8GB. It also features a new drop down menu interface, and the same Cover Flow album display used in iTunes.
Control iTunes from your iPhone (or PPC)
Smashcasi’s excellent RemoteAmp has changed it’s name to Signal, and now works with the iPhone as well as Pocket PC. Signal allows you control your desktop installation of iTunes from your iPhone or PPC, just like using a remote control. It works with iTunes on the Mac, and also with iTunes, Winamp, or Windows Media Player on a PC. I’ve installed the demo version of Signal on my iPAQ and it works really well, I’ve been using it all day and it looks like all the bugs from the older version of RemoteAmp seem to have been fixed – I’m going to buy it!

Best wireless router ever
With technology changing everyday, it’s kinda weird to consider a wireless router a ‘classic’ – but the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G router is just that. The WRT54G is famous for its reliability, and is rock solid once you get it up and running. It’s also really easy to update the firmware, so as long as Linksys keep releasing updates you’ll have most of the features of the latest models.

Micro-T goes LiPo
The world cutest micro RC car has just got a LiPo battery upgrade. Losi have released a 180mAh lithium battery for the Micro-T, featuring special internal circuit protection to prevent over charge and over discharge. The Micro-T lithium battery provides more power, and also gives much longer runtimes.
Micro RC Silverlit X-Twin Jet
Silverlit (makers of the superb PiccoZ) have just released another great micro RC ‘toy’ – the X-Twin Jet. It has 2 ‘hidden’ pusher props in the wings, and uses the same charger/controller system as the PiccoZ. The most surprising thing abou the X-Twin Jet is that is can be flown outside, even in a light breeze.
